    Don't walk on the grass.

Don't walk on the grass. Teachers ruled by pure intimidation and brute force. This was probably necessary to keep all of us in check, but you got paranoid even when you touched the grass by accident. Snowball fights with the punks on the other side of the parking lot, the so called 'openbare school'. Who knew then that I would eventually join their beliefs.

When you think of it, it was a great time, during the best decade of the century (80s).

When you think of it, it was a great time, during the best decade of the century (80s). That is probably why I stayed an extra year. My favorite teacher was Jan de Graaff, I hope I didn't drive him insane. On the other hand, Mr. Den Otter, our infamous English teacher, I think I have you beat now. By the way, I never did read 'Clockwork Orange'.... ha ha ha ha ha On a more serious note, Frances van As, I see you have a profile here. When people get older they start seeing how they treated some other people in the past. Just wanted to apologize for being such a jerk to you at school. You didn't deserve that harsh treatment. Looks like you are doing ok though. On a more pleasant note. I can't believe nobody here in the US believes me when I tell them the pain and misery I had to go through to bike my way from 't Zand to Schagen through blizzard like conditions. Wish we had some of those yellow school buses to drive us around. But then, I would have missed those fun things like changing over into your raingear when it started to rain, finding out that the wind direction had changed during the day, meaning you had to go against the wind again, and of course, getting out of school only to find out that you have a flat tire. Ah.... memories.
